<p dir="ltr">This folder contains raw Acoustic Emission Waveforms collected as part of the work towards the manuscript, 'Utilising Acoustic Techniques to Improve Understanding of the Formation Process in Sodium-ion Batteries'</p><p dir="ltr">This dataset contains Acoustic Emission (AE) waveforms collected during the formation process of sodium-ion batteries, aiming to improve understanding of the electrochemical and mechanical processes occurring within the cells. The AE data were recorded in real-time throughout initial charge–discharge cycles to capture transient events associated with solid–electrolyte interphase (SEI) formation, electrode expansion, and other structural changes.The experiments were conducted at University College London between 2024-2025 using a laboratory-scale sodium-ion cell setup equipped with high-sensitivity piezoelectric AE sensors and precision data acquisition hardware. The dataset includes raw waveform files. Data processing and analysis were performed using Python, incorporating signal filtering, and clustering techniques. This dataset supports ongoing research into correlating AE signatures with electrochemical performance, with the goal of enhancing diagnostic and monitoring methods for next-generation sodium-ion batteries.</p>
