UCL Research Data Lifecycle 2020/2023

The 'UCL Research Data Lifecycle 2020/2023' pdf consists of three illustrations of the research data lifecycle model used by the UCL Research Data Services team to illustrate the (idealized) stages of the data lifecycle to new starters or anyone wanting to understand the aims of the team. The first illustration shows the 2023 version of the diagram, with indications of the relative maturity of university services to address each stage. The second illustration maps various services to the lifecycle, several of which are provided by UCL, with others actively discouraged but used by university staff nevertheless. The third illustration - the 2020 UCL RDM diagram - was used by the Research Data Alliance Working Group, 'Mapping the Landscape of Digital Research Tools', and this in turn motivated the updating of that original diagram to the 2023 version, which adds a 'data preparation and processing' step.
